Pipeline assembly: assembly and revision of pipelines

Pipeline assembly is a main field of activity for our steel construction specialists and welders.

This is because pipeline construction is very common and used in a wide variety of industrial sectors.

For example, pipelines or piping systems are required for:

  • the transport of water, wastewater or other liquids (pipeline)
  • or the district heating supply.

Incidentally, the same applies to the transport of a wide variety of gases.

Typical clients for pipeline construction are:

  • the chemical industry,
  • plant construction and
  • utilities

In the water supply and sanitation sector are mainly municipal clients to be found.

Pipeline assembly or inspection of pipelines is one of our core competencies

However, Indmont is not a classic pipeline construction company. Rather, we support these companies in pipeline assembly, i. e. the assembly and completion of pipelines or piping systems. These are laid both underground and above ground, where experienced specialists are required for smooth pipeline installation.

The same applies to the construction of pipe bridges, e.g. in chemical companies and in plant construction. Here, the pipes are usually laid on pipe bridges.

In the area of water supply and disposal, pipeline construction and district heating, on the other hand, pipe laying is mainly carried out underground.

Piping and piping systems

A piping system can be used to transport different media in a predictable and efficient manner. Usually these are liquids such as water, sewage, oil or chemicals. In addition, steam, gases or free-flowing or pumpable solids can also be transported via pipelines.

Within piping systems, the transport of these substances can be flexibly planned. It should be noted that transport is subject to a variety of physical laws such as hydromechanics and fluid mechanics.

In the industrial sector, piping systems are indispensable. With their help, all kinds of substances are transported to production sites or processing points. Various liquids, lubricants or steam may place higher demands on the tightness and resistance of pipelines. Particularly high pressures or fast flow velocities can also cause high loads on the piping system.

These include, for example pipelines for transporting mineral oil or natural gas over very long distances – pipelines that are subject to constant revision and must be constantly protected against corrosion. The slightest leak can have catastrophic consequences here.
